Our Story
Bark River Farms is a collaboration of siblings led by Joshua Dibb that grew up and still live in the Lake Country area, mainly in the Bark River watershed, of Waukesha County, Wisconsin. We are all now grown and have children of our own and want to teach the responsibilities we were taught as kids from our parents, John and Patti Dibb. And that is, by raising animals as a child, such as rabbits and chickens, you learn to put others in front of yourself. Animals needs to be fed, watered and cared for before we, as farmers, get to sit down and relax. This trait, thinking of others, has guided me into the career of Firefighting and Emergency Medicine.
As a Firefighter who loves to cook, and eat, I was fed up preparing meals with “bargain” chicken from supermarkets. People say everything “tastes like chicken” because Chicken you buy today has no flavor. Knowing how to grow pasture-raised poultry for my Family, I started inquiring around my Firehouse in the interest of cooking with meat with richer, more robust flavor.

Thus starting Bark River Poultry Farms, LLC. A Producer/Grower in Wisconsin raising up to 1,000 birds on pasture, moved daily to a fresh green buffet filled with insects, natural vegetation and sunlight. They are supplemented with grain that is Certified Organic, non-GMO from a local feed mill. Then processed, packaged, and picked up on Farm – fresh for your family to enjoy. Exactly the way it was done 100 years ago.
You will taste the quality and see the difference!
